Yes, it is the first day of Black History Month, so let's utilize every single day and celebrate America's black men and women. The 'Great Melting Pot' wouldn't be the same without its brothas and sistas, heck, arguably wouldn't the great nation it is today.
Let's start this off by recognizing the man who inspired Black History Month, which was 'Black History Week' when it was first established. Dr. Carter G. Woodson is the mastermind; he was moved to act because of his belief that "those who have no record of what their forebearers have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history".
Thank you Dr. Woodson--so let's indulge during the month of February and gain that spectacular "inspiration".
